Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for cutting boards and building pallets to varying specifications in a fast-paced, highly physical, hot and demanding production environment where the employee is required to meet and exceed production quotas on a daily basis, this is a 2nd shift position.
$15/hr to start
$18-$23/hr after training
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read and understand custom specifications for each build project
Build pallets using a variety of shop tools
Operate all pallet facility tools and equipment in a safe manner
Wear all personal protective safety gear required
Sort and stack boards or pallets according to criteria
Keep daily log of work done to turn into shift supervisor at end of each shift
Cleanup work area during and at end of each shift
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience in wood fabrication and carpentry preferred
Knowledge of shop tools and equipment such as Sawzall, Pneumatic Nail Gun, Hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, screw drivers, crowbars, saws, etc. and two-way radios
Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills
Ability to read a tape measure
Strong work ethic and exceptional attendance
Flexible to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as needed
Interact courteously and tactfully with site managers, supervisors, co-workers, customers and/or vendors so that productivity and morale are positively affected
Constantly remain organized, focused and makes good use of time
Function and operate comfortably in a very active fast-paced environment
Stand, bend, stoop, squat, reach, twist, and push/pull continuously during the workday
Frequently reach above shoulder level to lift or otherwise move objects that weigh 75 - 85 lbs.
Endure extreme temperatures, extreme noise and distractions
Ensure a safe and clean work environment by continuously maintaining work area by performing cleaning duties such as sweeping, detail cleaning, etc. as needed
Perform responsibilities of other positions as requested by Supervisor and/or Site Manager
ONCE SELECTED FOR HIRE, SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
Provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States
Pass a pre-employment drug screen
Consent to a criminal background screening
