Job Description

A leading downstream energy company is seeking a Manager, Natural Gas Supply to oversee procurement strategy, commercial optimization, and supply reliability across multiple operating assets. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a team responsible for sourcing and managing natural gas supply, transportation, and related energy products, ensuring reliability and cost optimization
• Develop and execute procurement strategies across term and spot markets, balancing supply needs with market opportunities
• Negotiate and manage contracts for natural gas supply and transportation
• Partner with operations, planning, and commercial teams to align energy supply with plant demand and optimization strategies
• Evaluate and execute commercial opportunities, including new supply points, transportation arrangements, and long-term agreements
• Monitor daily supply/demand balances and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly
• Support development of long-term energy strategies, including asset-backed and structured supply solutions
• Conduct market analysis, risk assessments, and hedging recommendations to support business objectives
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, marketers, and internal stakeholders
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for team members

QUALIFICATIONS

• 8–12+ years of experience in natural gas including supply, marketing, business development, power supply and financial analysis
• Strong understanding of U.S. natural gas markets (regional expertise a plus)
• Experience with energy procurement, transportation, commercial optimization
• Prior team leadership or mentorship experience
• Proficiency with standard business tools (Excel, ERP systems such as SAP, etc.)
• Preferred: Exposure to refining, gas processing, power generation, large-scale manufacturing.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred
